Iris, a member of the Seven Plus artist group, lives in Arcata. I met her this summer when the group invited me to conduct a workshop on transfer drawings. Iris had a natural freeness as she tried the method and has been working on this process ever since. The process can be challenging and unpredictable. The more practice and familiarity, the better. Iris hit some frustrations, but has worked through them. Here is her latest... hits an impressive mark with me.
Thank you for your very kind remarks. I have been invited to participate in the Holiday Invitational show at Humboldt State University' First Street Gallery in Eureka in December. I decided to make a new series of Lucia paintings for this event. Now I am rather frantically trying to apply this new technique - that I have fallen i love with - to my annual Swedish solstice theme. When the museum director comes by on Thursday to make a selection I hope he will be as exited as I am.

ReplyDeleteAnnie, I did have a wonderful meeting with Jack Bentley of the First Street Gallery. But, although he liked the Lucias, he fell in love with my new monotypes. He asked me to give him as many as I have, which is 6. I have a few of them posted in my blog.
